This coming Sunday will bring the season finale for The Walking Dead, and already fans are wondering how they will fill the zombie apocalyptic void until the first of the third season’s sixteen episodes airs later this year. One way in which to fill that niche comes in the recently announced “AMC The Walking Dead Social Game,” a partnership between AMC, Facebook, and the technical expertise of RockYou and Eyes Wide Games.
The game draws upon the storyline and characters of the television series, and provides players an opportunity to fight alongside characters from the show, while also recruiting Facebook friends to work with them in battling zombie hordes. The game, which is schedule to launch in April, represents a keen move on AMC’s part, as it keeps fans involved in the series while also doing so by tapping into social media and connectedness. Fans interested in being a part can visit the Facebook page for the game and click “Like,” with the promise that they will be among the first to play the game when it debuts next month.
