The movie is set for release sometime in June, 2013.

‘Shaun of the Dead’ Lovers, check this out! Cockneys Vs Zombies

Cockneys-Vs-ZombiesJust as brothers Terry and Andy Macguire decide to rob a bank, workers on a Docklands building site uncover a burial ground sealed up in 1666. However some of the corpses aren’t Brown Bread at all and before you know it London’s East End is infested with hungry zombies. Can the two dodgy Hamptons get to the Bow Bells Care Home run by their granddad in time to rescue all the Raspberry Ripples under siege with only their Zimmer frames and wheelchairs to kick some zombie Khyber Pass? Take a Butchers at the hijacked Routemaster bus, the Thames ferryboat escape, Pussy Galore with an Uzi and Chas and Dave singing ‘Head to Head (With the Undead)’ over the closing credits. Would you Adam and Eve it!

Cockneys Vs Zombies, inevitably, is full of swearing, exploding heads and geysers of gore (in fact, Geezers of Gore would have been a good alternative title). Bear in mind, then, that the following red band trailer lives up to its name, and viewer discretion is strongly advised. You muppets.

Cockneys Vs Zombies has its premiere at FrightFest on the 23rd August, and goes on general release on the 31st.

Get paid to be a zombie!

Have you ever thought about working as a zombie and getting paid for it? Well, that is now a reality thanks to Wish.co.uk and their zombie experience days.

Work as a zombie

This could be you, all in a hard day’s work!

Wish.co.uk are currently looking for people who can act like zombies for their Zombie Manor House experience which takes place near Manchester in the UK.

Richard Kershaw, co-founder of Wish.co.uk, said: “Hundreds of zombie fans from around the world have contacted us begging for work.

“Given the huge demand for our Zombie Manor House, we’re inviting these people to audition in front of our expert panel to see if they have the right stuff.

“Why settle for a dead end job, when you can apply for an undead end job instead?”

Live auditions for would-be zombies will be held at London’s Pineapple Studios on Thursday, 28 June.

The company is promising competitive pay, and says successful applicants will receive movie-quality make-up and prosthetics to look the part.

Applicants will be assessed on their ability to look, walk and groan like a zombie. Previous experience as the walking dead isn’t essential.

If you are interested in applying for the job, then you can do so at Wish.co.uk/we-need-zombies

Zombie movie ‘World War Z’ is an undead disaster!

World War Z MovieBrad Pitt’s feature film based off the amazing “zombie war oral history” book World War Z is allegedly in shambles. With a budget raising up to $170 million and five weeks of possible reshoots, what went wrong with this movie?

The Hollywood Reporter has a behind-the-scenes look at what went awry. Apparently Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster never found a voice for this “headless production”:

Trouble emerged early: Three weeks before shooting was to begin in June 2011, sources say Forster had not made critical decisions about what the zombies would look like and how they would move. “They just couldn’t get it right,” one insider says. “There was a lot of spinning of plates, a lot of talking. [But] they did not have a plan.” [...]

“The director was not empowered,” says one insider. “There was nobody that steered the ship [...] When you get [a director] who can’t do it all [...] you get a struggle as to whose is the singular voice.”

The production has been plagued with other unusual problems:

Then in October, proceedings were disrupted when a Hungarian anti-terrorism unit raided an airport warehouse and confiscated 85 fully functional automatic assault rifles that were to be used on the shoot. (The guns were not supposed to be operational, and it is illegal to transport such weapons into the country.) With the movie already behind schedule and over budget, Pitt was said to be livid at the mistake – and perhaps wearying of a project that was showing no sign of ending.

And word is there’s some consensus that Paramount really should have pulled the plug earlier on this project. Now that World War Z has tumbled down the rabbit hole of a Hollywood disaster, will the film be shelved entirely?

University Offers ‘Zombie Survival’ Class

Forget Advanced Political Theory or even Introduction to Chemistry. The one class that everyone is dying to take this summer may save your life.

Michigan State University is offering an online elective class called “Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse: Catastrophes & Human Behavior.” It’s open to MSU students and non-students alike.

According to the course description, the class begins and ends with a simulated catastrophic event — in this case, a “‘Coronal Mass Ejection Incident’ which has caused a Zombie pandemic.”

“Students are assigned into Survivor Groups located throughout the United States and must face the challenges of living and surviving together during a catastrophic event,” the course description says.

But the class isn’t just about pretend zombies, according to instructor Glenn Stutzky.

Students will study historical effects of mass catastrophies like the Great Plague in the 14th century, a massive earthquake in China in 1556 that killed more than a million people, and the asteroid impact 65 million years ago that led to the extinction of 70 percent of all living species.

“In times of catastrophe some people find their humanity, others lose theirs,” the professor intones in a YouTube video about the course.

The class begins May 15
